Insurance
We do not participate with any insurance panels and are considered an out-of-network provider.
However, through your insurance, you may be eligible to receive reimbursement for therapy sessions. Depending on if your insurance plan offers Out of Network Benefits.
We have partnered with Thrizer, a modern mental healthcare platform that improves the therapy experience for individuals at no cost. Thrizer will help you save on every session via your out-of-network insurance benefits. They will submit claims for you after every appointment, getting you reimbursed as fast as one week later! Schedule a Consult to see if you have out of network benefits, and start the therapy process faster.
Please note that utilizing this feature would require us to provide your insurance company with a mental health diagnosis for you, which will be a part of your permanent medical record.
Why don't we accept insurance?
Because being an out of network provider allows us to be the most flexible with your treatment and as confidential as possible.
-
Sure, using insurance is less cost out of pocket, but the process of using your insurance is not completely confidential and creates barriers for quality treatment.
Insurance companies dictate things like length of treatment and sessions, and require that you are diagnosed with a mental health disorder for therapy to be paid for. A mental health diagnosis remains permanently on your health record.
Insurance companies also have access to know why you are going to therapy and what progress you are making. They have the right to audit your therapy files & notes, and ask questions of your therapist about your treatment.
By bypassing insurance, we are able to keep your records secure & confidential, without limitations of an insurance company, ensuring you the quality treatment you deserve.
Good Faith Estimate
You have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining how much your medical care will cost.
-
Under Section 2799B-6 of the Public Health Service Act, health care providers and health care facilities are required to inform individuals who are not enrolled in a plan or coverage or a Federal health care program, or not seeking to file a claim with their plan or coverage both orally and in writing of their ability, upon request or at the time of scheduling health care items and services, to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” of expected charges. You have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining how much your medical care will cost.
Under the law, health care providers need to give patients who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the bill for medical items and services. You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency items or services. This includes related costs like medical tests, prescription drugs, equipment, and hospital fees.
Make sure your health care provider gives you a Good Faith Estimate in writing at least 1 business day before your medical service or item. You can also ask your health care provider, and any other provider you choose, for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule an item or service.
If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill.
Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate. For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises
